Positioning the Parrot Cage (Noise, Light, Airflow)

Positioning the Parrot Cage (Noise, Light, Airflow)
The location of a parrot’s cage inside the home is highly important for its mental health, sense of security, and overall quality of life. A poorly placed cage can cause stress, illness, and behavioral problems. Environmental factors such as noise, light, and airflow must be carefully considered.

1. Choosing a Spot Away from Noise
The cage should be kept away from constantly noisy devices such as televisions, kitchen appliances, or music systems. Loud noise is a major source of stress for parrots.

2. Protection from Sudden Sounds
Sudden noises like doorbells or vacuum cleaners may frighten and startle parrots. The cage should be placed away from these sound sources.

3. A Place with Natural Light and Shade
A location that receives natural daylight helps regulate the parrot’s biological rhythm. However, it should not be exposed to direct sunlight; shaded areas must be available.

4. Ensuring Darkness at Night
The cage’s environment should be dark and quiet at night. Light or screen glare during sleep can disturb the parrot’s rest.

5. Protection from Airflow
The cage should never be placed directly in front of windows, doors, or air conditioners that create drafts. Constant airflow can make the parrot ill.

6. Lighting Consistent with Daily Rhythm
The cage area should follow the natural day-night cycle. Artificial lights should be turned off at appropriate times to maintain a natural routine.

7. Areas That Encourage Family Interaction
The cage should not be placed in an isolated corner. It’s better in an area where the parrot can observe people and engage in social interaction.

8. Security from a Higher Position
Parrots like being high up. The cage should not be too low to the ground but placed at a height where the bird can observe its surroundings.

9. Reducing Distracting Elements
Constantly moving curtains, ceiling fans, or decorative items can unsettle parrots. The cage should be kept away from such distractions.

10. Safe and Stable Surface
The cage should not wobble or stand unevenly. It must be placed on a flat, stable surface and secured against tipping.
