General Information

Golden Retriever is one of the most popular dog breeds worldwide, known for its gentle, social, and intelligent nature. Originating in England, it was initially bred as a hunting dog. Today, it is widely kept as a family pet and also serves as a guide, therapy, and search-and-rescue dog.

Golden Retrievers are affectionate, adaptable, and friendly. They are very loyal to their owners and get along exceptionally well with children. They are trainable and patient, making them ideal for first-time dog owners.

  • Size: Medium to large (males 56–61 cm, females 51–56 cm)

  • Weight: Males 30–35 kg, females 25–32 kg

  • Coat: Dense, water-resistant fur, usually in golden shades

  • Lifespan: 10–12 years

Exercise Needs
Golden Retrievers are active dogs. They require daily exercise such as walking, running, playing, and swimming. Mental stimulation through puzzle games and training is also important.

Care
Their coat should be brushed several times a week, with increased frequency during shedding seasons. Their floppy ears need regular checks, and dental care should not be neglected.

Living Environment
Best suited for homes with gardens, but can adapt to apartment living if given enough exercise. They love being around people and dislike being left alone.
