The Goffin’s Cockatoo’s natural habitat consists of tropical forests, savannas, or scrublands. Throughout history, it has been trained and domesticated by humans. Goffin’s Cockatoo stands out with its vocal abilities and striking colors.

Diet and Nutrition
Specially formulated parrot pellets are primarily used. In addition, the diet should be supported with fresh vegetables and fruits. Foods such as chocolate, avocado, caffeinated items, garlic, and onions are harmful. A cuttlebone is provided as a source of calcium.
Care Requirements
A spacious and secure cage is necessary. The cage should include perches, toys, and chewing materials. Daily fresh water, regular cage cleaning, and attentive observation are essential for proper care.
Socialization and Training
With early training, basic commands and speech can be taught. Positive reinforcement methods are recommended. Daily social interaction and playtime are essential.
Health and Common Issues
Feather plucking, stress, vitamin deficiencies, fungal infections, and respiratory diseases should be monitored closely. An annual veterinary check-up is advised.
Living Environment and Comfort
Quiet, calm, and naturally lit environments are preferred. Direct sunlight and drafts should be avoided. The ambient temperature should be kept stable (18–27°C).
Breeding Characteristics
With proper pairing and a nesting box, they can lay eggs several times a year depending on the species. The incubation period ranges between 18–28 days.
Interesting Facts
The Goffin’s Cockatoo can recognize its owner’s voice, mimic words, and some can even distinguish facial expressions. Their intelligence levels can be comparable to those of young children.
